Try OTC decongestants and antihistamines. Decongestants relieve congestion in your nose and sinuses while antihistamines relieve allergy symptoms such as a runny nose, coughing, or itching. Tip #4 Use prescribed medications. Always make sure to use your prescribed medications from your doctor that prevent or control your symptoms. If you have asthma, always remember to keep any quick-relief medications nearby in case of a flare-up. Obviously, limiting exposure to triggers can be helpful, but it is incredibly hard to eliminate contact with everything that causes allergy and asthma symptoms.
